Donsol: Swimming with Whale Sharks in an Unspoiled Philippine Bay

Located in Sorsogon province in southern Luzon, Donsol offers one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences on Earth: swimming alongside whale sharks (butanding), the largest fish in the world, far away from mass tourist crowds.

Between January and May, Donsol Bay becomes the stage for an extraordinary natural phenomenon as dozens of whale sharks—reaching up to 12 meters in length—converge on these plankton-rich waters to feed.
